Resolutions 2009 - Done

I like the official fresh start that New Year's provides. It's a free clean slate for whomever wants to take it. In 2009, I made two resolutions:
  1. Make my bed every day.
  2. Live my life -- without fear. Enjoy the present.
1. Done!

2. And done!

Satin Ribbon

Despite the economic bust that was 2009, I used satin ribbon on my Christmas presents. And it feels so good!

I piggy-backed on my brother and sister-in-law's purchase from PaperMart (they were buying ribbon for their wedding) to snag 100 yards (yards!) of white satin ribbon for less than eight cents a yard. Had I not tag-teamed with them, shipping costs would have severely lessened the goodness of my deal -- PaperMart likes bulk orders and the West Coast.

Judging by the amount of ribbon I've used so far, this roll should see me nicely through the economy's recovery.

P.S. All my presents are wrapped and ready except for one lonely item still in the clutches of the USPS. Please, Mr. Postman, unhand my package.

Talk to Santa

Santa and I just had a nice little chat. Santabot hooked me up. If you'd like to chat with the big guy, plenty of online options are available, including ones where Santa talks and sounds like a Monk-e-mail monkey.

He didn't quite know what to say when I typed, "Moo, says the cow." I believe his response was somewhere along the lines of, "That does not compute." Figures.
Suh-weet, Santa. What else is new?

Snow Day!

The entire state is a buzz about the massive amounts of snow we received. And for the first time in nine years, I get a snow day! I had every intention of going in to work until I learned that even the public transportation had shut down their services.

So far today, I have watched a couple hours of the news, made pancakes, and watched a movie. I just changed out of my pajamas at noon and have some potato soup simmering on the stove. Long live the snow day!

Welcome to the best snow day ever.

Cognac boots

This post is dedicated to Lola, Amanda and Dave. Each of you have been a significant part of my journey to finding the perfect pair (right color, right style, right price) of low-heeled, cognac boots. Thank you all for your support.

Please, feast your eyes! These are my new boots. They are Steve Maddens, purchased from TJ Maxx tonight for $40. Boo-yah.

I will wear these with love.
